Dundee - UNESCO City of Design
In 2014 Dundee was named the UK's first (and remains to be the only) UNESCO City of Design.
The City of Design title was awarded to 12 other cities prior to Dundee’s designation and the network now includes 31 Cities of Design.
Dundee has been recognised by UNESCO for its diverse contributions to fields including, medical research, comics, video games and is of course now home to V&A Dundee: Scotland’s first design museum.
The title recognises the design innovations Dundee has contributed to the world, including aspirin, biomedical research which has led to hundreds of new cancer drugs, comics including the Beano and Dandy, orange marmalade, video games including Lemmings and Grand Theft Auto.
And now Waxyz!

Running from 21-28 May, from 10-5, at the Keiller Centre in Dundee Design Festival 2019 explores what a Liveable/Loveable city is by asking: how can a city use design to shape its future?
The festival is rethinking what a design festival is and how it should work, putting people first and building front he ground up. The programme explores process, makes design accessible and delivers it all through an on-demand format so you can turn up at any time during the week and take part in anything.
The design of the wraps perfectly echos the randomise theme of the festival with wraps in four colour ways where no two wraps are the same.
These very limited edition Waxyz are exclusively available at the Design Superstore at the Keiller centre. where you can also find a diverse and exciting range of products from across Scotland.
I recommend you make time to along, be inspired by the festival and grab one of these beautiful Waxyz while you can.
